Dear ~Contact.FirstName~,
June is an exciting month for us here at the Eat So They Can office, because it means we get to announce our Ambassadors for the 2011 campaign! These people have been chosen to represent Eat So They Can in their communities, and will play a crucial role in making the 2011 campaign a successful one. We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who applied, and congratulations to those who have been chosen.
On a different but equally exciting note we would also like to announce the arrival of the first GVN Foundation
baby! Eat So They Can's Lauren McMahon gave birth last month to beautiful baby Isobel. From all the team at Eat So
They Can, we would just like to say congratulations to Lauren and family, and welcome to Isobel. No doubt we'll have
Isobel representing ESTC in no time!
Our 2011 Eat So They Can campaign is picking up speed, with 320 people signed up to host an event so far.
Our goal this year is to have 1,500 sign-ups so please help us change lives - one meal at a time! Sign-up here,
and then let the whole world know that you are going to
'eat so they can'!
With gratitude,
Eliza Raymond
Executive Director
GVN Foundation

Farewell to Caitie
Last month the ESTC team were sad to say goodbye to Caitie Goddard, who has been working with the GVN Foundation since 2009. During her time here, Caitie has played a crucial role in helping to organise and run Eat So They Can. Recently, she also led the GVN Vietnam Cycle Challenge trip, which she managed to run smoothly despite being hit off her bike by a motorcycle!
Caitie has left us to return to the United States. She will still be involved with GVN and the GVN Foundation through our Be The Change program, but will be hugely missed here in the Eat So They Can office in New Zealand. Thank you so much Caitie for all the passion and energy you have put into ESTC over the past couple of years.

Featured Partner - The Centre for Volunteerism, The Philippines
The Centre for Volunteerism (CERV) is GVN Foundation's partner in The Philippines, whose aim is to help Filipino
communities better their quality of life. They are based in Quezon City and work both in the marginalized communities
of the capital Metro Manila and in Romblon, one of The Philippines' poorest provinces.
In 2011, CERV are hoping to build a library in the community of San Agustin. The library will provide a space for learning
and for fostering a love of
reading amongst the children and young people. Raymund Villanueva of CERV Philippines hopes that the new library will introduce
the wonderful world of books to thousands of San Agustin students, who currently have very limited library facilities. CERV
also hope that the library will become a community resource for all the people of San Agustin, and that thousands of children
will be able to receive a higher quality education once the library is built.
However, CERV are in desperate need of donations to fund the library project and hope that through donations from Eat So
They Can, the library project will be completed within a year.
If you would like to specifically support CERV Philippines, you can select them as your partner when you 'create an event'.
If you have any questions at all about our new website system and how to select partners or causes,
just drop us an email or give us a call!

Spreading the word
Do you wish there was a way to spread the word about Eat So They Can more effectively?
Do you like posters, flyers and snazzy powerpoint presentations?
We have some great news! We have developed a set of resources for you to help us spread the word about Eat So They Can! We would love for you to
put up some posters or do a powerpoint presentation at your local club, school or church to encourage others to also host an event! You can download our resources here.
Remember to let us know if you recruit someone to host an ESTC event as you will get 'credit' for the funds they raise - and if you reach $500 you will be entered into our Grand Prize Draw to win an expense paid trip to Peru or Kenya next year!
