My name is Janine Viret and I am so happy and proud to be an International Intern for GVN Foundation and Eat So They Can. Although I’ve always been interested in ways to help those less fortunate, I did not take the first step in being active about it until I joined GVN Foundation in 2008 and spent five weeks volunteering in Kenya. Since then I have become very active in fundraising and awareness campaigns and it has become a real passion of mine. So it seems very fitting for me to now be able to help GVN Foundation in raising funds and awareness for ESTC. I am currently living in Canada but was born in Cape Town South Africa. I’m 32 years old and work full time as a Registered Massage Therapist. This is my second year interning for Eat So They Can and I’m very much looking forward to fundraising for my feeding project, Happy Life Childrens Home, and the many children who rely on the wonderful staff there to take care of them again.
Last year I learned a lot about what it takes to run a successful fundraising campaign and about the bumps in the road and I’m looking forward to applying my lessons learned to an even more successful year!
