16th October 2010:

Updates Coming Soon!

Media

The more hosts we sign up to Eat so They Can, the more children we can help break free from poverty.... So let's make some noise and spread the word in the lead up to the Eat So They Can weekend on October 17/18!

Here's how!

Local Newspaper

Use the media templates and fact sheets provided to approach local newspapers with child poverty statistics, campaign quotes, and pictures. Ask them if they are interested in covering your fundraising event and running a 'Child Poverty' fact box or quiz in the lead up to the Eat So They Can Weekend on October 17/18.

Local Radio

To raise awareness of child poverty, approach local radio stations with a prepared script and seek their engagement to deliver a Community Service Announcement (CSA). Ask them to help dispel the myths about extreme poverty through on-air discussion of the issue. They also might like to interview you about your local fundraising event. Provide a campaign backgrounder, quiz sheet, sample radio script and media release, highlighting child poverty facts and emphasizing the Eat So They Can campaign:

  1. CSA Script
  2. Interview brief
  3. Media Release
  4. Facts and Figures
  5. Quiz sheet
