Join an ESTC Distribution Trip!
The Global Volunteer Network carries out distribution trips each year to monitor the distribution of Eat So They Can funds. Our trip to Kenya in April was a great success and we are now looking for participants to join us in Peru!
Peru: August 14-21, 2011
Join us this year in Peru! From August 14-21, participants will accompany Eat So They Can host mentor Eliza Raymond to Peru and have the opportunity to visit local schools and orphanages supported by funds from Eat So They Can. "Seeing the smiles and the gratitude on the recipients faces was by far the most inspiring and cherished part of the trip. It was amazing to see first hand where all of the funds that we worked so hard to raise were going. It definitely assures you that your work is making a difference in the lives of others. The distribution trip was an eye opener to the reality of where these funds go. It is one thing to raise money for a cause, another entirely once you have witnessed the cause yourself." - Kayla Clausen - ESTC Ambassador 2010
"As the incredibly lucky winner of the ESTC 2009 campaign, I have had the privilege of seeing first hand precisely how the donations from the ESTC hosts are allocated and distributed, directly into the hands of those who need it most. As they say in Swahili, asante sana, thank you very much to GVN, to Colin Salisbury, GVN founder, and especially to Lauren McMahon, and Tracy Pillay for going to such lengths to make this a life changing experience for all the participants. Let's hope that the ESTC 2010 campaign will reach a new record in donations." - Hilary Sullivan - ESTC Grand Prize Winner 2009
"I knew that the money raised through the Eat So They Can program was going towards beating child poverty in Africa, but until I became part of the distribution team I didn’t really have my head around what that involved, and just how hard the GVN staff and volunteers work with its partner organisations to make sure the money goes to the right resources and the right projects. You wouldn’t be human if you weren’t touched by the passion of the GVN staff and volunteers, and their selfless dedication to provide opportunity for underprivileged children. The whole experience was quite humbling, and every day I think about how I can make Eat So They Can 2010 even more successful than the previous year, both on a personal level and for the GVN Foundation. It truly was an amazing experience and I feel privileged to be part of the distribution team." - Alicia Hill - ESTC Kenya Distribution Trip 2010
