Description: "I chose to do a ladies' night wine tasting party to raise money for women's empowerment in which I had each of my guests bring a bottle of their favorite wine so that we could have a wide variety of choices.  We had a great selection of a variety of wines and everyone expanded their wine palate by trying something new!  I included a selection of appetizers to enhance the flavor of the wines (and help cushion the effects).  I also requested donated items from several businesses in order to put together a silent auction; this could not have been more fun!  The competition was intense (but friendly) and the end result was very fruitful!  The ladies really enjoyed competing for their favorite items and the highest bidders ended up with some great goodies!  As a gift for my guests, I purchased beads from beadforlife.org (beads made from paper by women in Uganda) and made bracelets for each of my guests.  I thought this would be a great way to feature an organization that is doing great things for women's empowerment while giving the important women in my life a beautiful gift they can wear to spread the word!  Overall, the event was a huge success!  We had so much fun while raising money for a truly great cause!" - Sarah
