Guatemala

Our partner organization in Guatemala supports a range of projects through the placement of volunteers and the distribution of funds.

Eat So They Can’s project site in Guatemala is an afterschool program located in Pastores, a town just outside of Antigua, Guatemala.  The two founding women saw many challenges and problems that families in their community struggled with, including poverty and substance abuse.  They felt that the best way to combat such problems would be to educate and support children from the community. The afterschool program provides the children with lunch, and then an afternoon of activities that help reinforce their education.  The program is dedicated to developing a better community by providing the children with the skills they need for a more independent and successful future.  Funds raised for this project will pay for the daily lunch of the 20-30 children that attend the after-school program and donated vitamins to supplement the nutrition of the students and their families.
