Our partner organization in Rwanda seeks to help vulnerable women and children living in poverty. Founded in 2003, their mission is to facilitate processes that help eradicate poverty, reduce HIV and AIDS infections, and help communities in capacity building programs aimed at the transformation of society.
By running education centers, they provide training for vulnerable children and equip them with essential skills for coping with the challenges of daily life. The children are taught by GVN volunteers on basic numeric skills, literacy skills and skills related to fighting against gender based violence. In addition, the children are taught about good discipline and creativity through visits to different places and sports activities.
Funds raised from Eat So They Can will be used to continue funding our partner's Noon Meal Program. This program provides the children in their care with at least one meal each day. This meal enables the children to participate more actively in the centre’s education and is improving their level of nutrition.
Did you know... that it only costs approximately $133 to provide one child with a meal each day for a year through our Noon Meal Program!
