Peru

anta Our partner in Peru is a non-profit organization that works to enhance the lives of children living in poverty in Peru through nutrition, education and healthcare. The organization was founded by Ana Dodson, one of Eat So They Can's ambassadors.

Ana was born in Peru and was adopted by an American family when she was a baby. Her family took her on a trip back to Peru when she was 11 years old because they wanted her to embrace her heritage. Ana was so moved by the extreme poverty that she saw in Peru that she founded Peruvian Hearts that same year - when she was 11 years old.

Since starting Peruvian Hearts, Ana, with the help ana of her brother Danny and her family, have raised over a quarter of a million dollars! "Peruvian Hearts has taught me that even when one sees a situation that appears to be hopeless there is still hope. I believe that each person can change the world a little bit at a time. Our motto is "changing the world one heart at a time".

The funds raised from Eat So They can will assist Peruvian Hearts' different projects. We will be working with Peruvian Hearts to turn an orphanage in the village of Anta near Cusco into a model orphanage. Funds will also go towards Peruvian Hearts' lunch programs in small communities near Cusco where children suffer from malnutrition.
